Reading a stacked cell The first move if it is allowed, the second if it is not — a three-card hand cannot double, and a split hand cannot double without DAS. Surrender is only ever the first two cards.

Hard or soft A soft hand holds an ace still worth 11, so one card cannot bust it: A+6 is a soft 17. A hard 17 is 10+7, and a nine ends it. “11 vs A” means your total, then the dealer's up-card.

Basic strategy sets the floor. It does not account for the count; deviations belong to the Exact Shoe.
